The problem: recruitment as we know it simply isn't working

It's demanding, frustrating, and inefficient for everyone involved. Companies and HR teams are drowning in a high volume of applications, stuck in rigid, time-consuming processes that often yield poor results. People looking for work are frustrated by the black hole of applications, feeling that their true value and potential are lost beneath the weight of an outdated CV and cover letter.

Technology promises to simplify things, yet too often it just adds complexity. We've reached a point where technology often filters out potential, rather than helping to bring the best talent in.

The mission: flipping the script

At ByeByeApply, we're challenging the status quo. We believe the real opportunity lies in using technology to strengthen the connection between people and work. Our goal is to reimagine the path from talent to opportunity.

We are turning recruitment upside down with one clear goal:

Only preferences matched against companies' needs.

This shift is fundamental. We move the focus from a person's history and background (as presented in a CV) to their true value, passion, and what drives them. We are building a smarter path between talent and the companies that need them, helping great people and great companies skip the application pile.

I'm excited to share that Jostein Haugstad and Gry Brandsnes have joined the ByeByeApply team as partners. They bring a wealth of experience from HR, recruiting, consulting, and building companies — and they share our passion for modernising how talent and companies connect.

Our combined mission

Technology and AI should support a single, clear goal: helping companies discover the best-fit talent for their team. We don't want to use AI to filter out, screen and exclude people. We want to use it to find those who are the best match — for the role and for the culture.

Our platform focuses on matching based on the “job to be done” and the specific preferences and drivers of both the individual and the company. By focusing on what truly motivates a person and what a company truly needs, we create connections that are precise and generate real value for both parties.

Where we are today

We are currently live in Norway. These are early days, but we have a big vision for the future of work — and the model we're building travels well beyond any single market.
